Little Babylon @SHINE

Interface of the city
How is ‘s-Hertogenbosch feeling today?

The digital world impacts the physical tangible world. But how and in what way? How do social networks and collected data influence the physical city? Rezone builds upon the ‘interconnectedness’ of the online and offline world and translates this in a surprising way which can be experienced with all the senses through a peculiar pavilion, Little Babylon.

During festival SHINE (7-17 May 2015) Rezone will exhibit Little Babylon and go deeply into the topic of the interweaving of digital and physical world during a seminar and by presenting 2 documentaries.

Rezone is a co production between Wave of Tomorrow and the Bosch Architecture Initiative (Bosch Architectuur Initiatief, BAI). Together with ONL architects, Lust interaction agency en Studio Air Design we developed an interactive inflatable pavilion, Little Babylon. The pavilion shows the sentiment of the city. How does ‘s-Hertogenbosch feel today? It scans the streaming of online networks and social media and through this content combined with the interaction of the audience on location the pavilion changes in shape, image and sound, thus expressing the immediate feeling of the city.

During SHINE festival Rezone organizes a seminar as well and shows films that are connected to the topic of The Digital City. The key question is: How can the digital city and the physical city empower each other ?
